IEC 60400 (International Electrotechnical Commission)
Lampholders for tubular fluorescent lamps and starter holders IEC 60400:2008 states the technical and dimensional requirements for lampholders for tubular fluorescent lamps and for starter holders, and the methods of test to be used in determining the safety and the fit of the lamps in the lampholders and the starters in the starter holders. The seventh edition cancels and replaces the sixth edition (1999) and its amendments 1 (2002) and 2 (2004). This seventh edition constitutes a technical revision. EN 60400 (European Norms)
Lampholders for fluorescent light sources. In June 1992, an agreement was reached (LUM agreement) that called for a unified market for lighting fixtures starting in 1993. The new mark called ENEC, European Norms Electrical Certification, certifies that a product conforms to the harmonized European standards (the EN starndards). The ENEC mark is currently recognized as equivalent to the national mark by the certification organizations. The procedure to obtain the ENEC mark involves approval of the manufacturer, who must have a quality system that conforms to the EN ISO 9002 standards, product approval and production monitoring. The quality mark certifies that the product conforms to national and international standards.

ROHS  (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)
With effect from 1st July 2006, all the electrical and electronic products on the market will have to conform with the 2002/95/EC and 2003/11/EC-REV:A (RoHS – restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment). This is an European Directive which limits the use of the following substances:
  • Lead
  • Mercury
  • Cadmium
  • Hexavalent chromium
  • PBB (Polybrominated biphenyls)
  • PBDE (Polybrominated diphenyl ethers)
We have modified production cycle so as to be able to supply products which are in accordance with this directive, carrying on our main aim which is to continuously improve and contribute to the safeguard of the environment. On demand, we can supply a conformity declaration for our products that they are RoHS compliant.

CE (Conformite’ Europe’enne)
The CE mark is a mandatory conformity mark on many products placed on the single market in the European Economic Area. By affixing the CE marking, the manufacturer placing the product on the market asserts that the item meets all the essential safety, health, environment and consumer protection requirements of the relevant European Directives. To permit the use of a CE mark on a product, proof that the item meets the relevant requirements must be documented. Directives providing the requirements of the CE marking are created by the European Union (EU). There are numerous ‘Agreements on Mutual Recognition of Conformity Assessment’ between the European Union and other countries such as the USA, Japan, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Israel and Turkey. Considering importance of the CE mark, we are adopting the approval for our products.
RU (Underwriters Laboratories Inc., U.S.A )
UL is a non-profit organization for product safety testing and certification. It develops standards and test procedures for products etc chiefly dealing with product safety, reliability and durability. It also evaluates and certifies the efficiency of a company’s business processes through its management system registration programs.

UL evaluates products, components, materials and systems for compliance to specific requirements, and permits acceptable products to carry a UL certification mark. A manufacturer of a UL certified product must demonstrate compliance with appropriate safety requirements and that it has a program in place to ensure that each copy of the product complies with the appropriate requirements. UL conducts periodic unannounced follow-up inspections at manufacturers locations to check ongoing compliance. The European analog of the UL mark is the CE marking.

Considering importance of the UL mark, we are adopting the approval for our products.
